Agua de Melón | Cantaloupe Agua Fresca

Cantaloupe agua fresca

When I was a young girl I could eat an entire half of a cantaloupe. I’d cut it in half, grab a spoon, hold the cantaloupe over the trash, scoop out all the seeds, and eat the entire half with a spoon. All summer long, Cantaloupe was my BFF. Agua de melón is no different. Anytime I see it at a taqueria or mercado, my mouth waters and I go straight for that agua fresca. Sometimes it’s a tie between horchata and agua de melón, but because I rarely see agua de melón being offered as a choice, I take it whenever I can get it.

Summertime is the best time to take advantage of using Cantaloupe in recipes, and I found a great one for you to try out. This one comes from a sweet blogger buddy of mine, Dolores Wiarco Dweck at Lolas Cocina. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person finally last winter at We All Grow Summit.

Her recipe is perfect in every way. See for yourself!
